You're probably just overthinking it (which I totally relate to).
That is what a robot (ChatGPT) told me. It is not false, though. I believe that ChatGPT overthinks a lot, too. It's called overfitting in machine learning, which you can read on your own cause I ain't feel like I'm qualified enough to tell you shit.
A robot has to make sure to me that I am not messing up, that I was just overthinking. A robot gives me guidance on how to feel emotionally, what is right and what would be deemed wrong in human interactions.
Reading to this point, you are probably repulsed by that fact. You probably are thinking: "man, what a dystopian this world has turned out to be. Soon, we will all be robots, just like Hayao Miyazaki said...". Right? Or maybe not right, and you are thinking the way I do.
You use weather forecast instead of looking at the sky, feeling the air, etc. You use notes instead of your memory. You use clothes instead of your bare skin to shield yourself from the harsh environment. Yes, it is the degree of how much you are relying on external tools is the difference. But would you say it is just how good you are at using tools? Isn't that what makes us humans? To be good at using and creating tools?
Certain problems, though, you can't really use tools for. Or in other words, there aren't any tool to solve that problem, just yet. For example, how you really feel. That fact is only truly known to you. Only you can feel what you feel, see what you see, think how you think. That makes you who you are, and that's not really replaceable, since there are too many factors that constitute you for us to create an entire you from scratch, plus the technology is not there yet. You feel like you messed up, or not, that is you. How you should feel, on the other hand, is totally different. A should needs a root to based on. Should because of whom or what? Why should you feel that way? Maybe it is for the good of society, maybe it's for your own good. What you need to do is to be clear on your agenda. Get your priorities straight.
That is how I think about this booming AI fear that people are having, in this specific matter that I discussed. About the booming of AI fear, I also believe that people are just not used to it yet. Human are resilient, elastic. They get used to everything.
Do you have another idea? Why not write it down in the comment if you feel like it?
